Halloween 2012

The night before Halloween, I got a mysterious package left on my doorstep. No return address or stamp. It just said, "Happy Halloween Gretchen!". I have absolutely no clue who it was from. My roommates even suggested that I shouldn't open it in my room in case it was a stink bomb or a joke. Haha!
Turns out it was a full on Cinderella costume. No way! Yes way. Seriously. At first I was so excited to get a costume to wear for Halloween but slowly that excitement turned to worry and a little anxiety. Who on earth is this from? Using my Nancy Drew skills, I discovered that none of my roommates or family purchased it for me and mysteriously left it for me. Things are starting to get creepy!
Then Aretha came over. After I told her everything, she insisted that I try it on to see how it looks. Why not, right? Well I put it on and it fit perfectly. Mysterious delivery who know my size? Oh my! Further investigation and a little persistence revealed that it was Aretha all along!

Thank you, Aretha! You are the sweetest fairy godmother!!

Birthday Bliss :)

October 8th, 2012
GUESS WHAT I AM 20!! FINALLY!!
Can I just say that it was the best birthday to date?

Woke up to a picture text from my dad

"Happy birthday, my princess!! Have a great day."

Now wouldn't that just put a smile on your face? It was a great start.

Then my besties took me out to dinner. Oh how I love them!

Then I got the sweetest and thoughtful things that anyone has ever given me.
Like so sweet and thoughtful, I almost cried. But we all know that I am a HUGE bawl baby.

2 peach cobblers for me :)

Best. Day. Ever.

SLC ZOO 2012

First weekend in October, we went to Salt Lake City, baby!
Road trippinnn.

*Side note: It was the weekend of General Conference and the weekend right before my Monday birthday. Went and saw my grandparents before I left back to Rexburg and they surprised me with a birthday cake and sang to me! Such a surprise :)  <3 *

Anyways, back to business.
My favorite part of the trip was going to the zoo!
I absolutely LOVE the zoo!
Here are some of the highlights in picture form :)

Thanks Hogle Zoo.
What a fabulous Saturday away!
Never been? You should re-think that.

My favorite people! Love these two so much.

Happy elephant likes to eat :)

 Roommate shot by the Rhino.

 What a cutie pie.

Fierce.

Pretty much hate anything that slithers or resembles nasty reptiles. . .

I think we went on "Dress up like a Super Hero, Get A Discount" Day because we found this amazing Batman look-a-like roaming around the reptiles. Too bad we didn't see him with the bats! ;) Wish this photo was better quality. He was such a good sport to pose with us!

 Ssssid the sssssloth.

Krissy riding her giraffe. She is pretty much the cutest.

Steven happy on his snake infested log.

And here is me. Riding my snow leopard.
And then there is Superman in the background.
Best photo bomb ever!

Another thing Krissy and I have in common is a love for giraffes!

But really who wouldn't because they are so cute and awesome!

This is Daphne and her baby.

I love Daphne. She became the inspiration for a lot of my printmaking work!

Look at that cutie on that rhino.

Suspicious character on rhino.

This is my chub chub arm and hand compared to a grizzly bear's paw. Holy cow. Never want to run in one in the wild. .

Okay. Look at how precious this polar bear is!
There is so much happiness in this zoo!

The precious little monkey next to his heater.

The little monkey loved Steven!

We have a special friendship. Haha!

The battle of the siblings was never ending. Steven felt that Krissy should stay at the zoo. . . Forever.
