Mitchell's an Eagle Scout

Yes! It is true! My younger brother, Mitchell had his court of honor on the 29th of March.

 Mitchell is officially a man.

Do you want to know how to become a man and impress the ladies? Read the following:

A Step-by-Step guide on How to Be A Man

Step 1: Be as swift as the coursing river.  CHECK.
Step 2: Have the force of a great typhoon.  CHECK.
Step 3: Have the strength of a raging fire.  CHECK.
Step 4: Be mysterious as the dark side of the moon.  CHECK.
Step 5: Become an Eagle Scout.  CHECK.
The end.

The program. Beautiful, right? I made it.

Now his Court of Honor was a special night for us Gehlbachs. I'm so happy I got to be there. My grandpa was able to make an appearance and play the trumpet in the program. Friends and leaders came to support. The mayor came and declared that May 29th, 2013 in the city of Santa Clara was Mitchell Gehlbach day. Gehlbach lemon bars, brownie cake, 7 layer bars and cookies were devoured. It was wonderful.

I am so proud of Mitchell and all of his accomplishments to make this happen. Becoming a Eagle Scout is a big deal and a lot of work. His determination and self-guidance really pushed him through. Thank you all who came to support Mitchell that night.

Love you, Mitchell.

Mayor Jamie Matthews!

SCHS BOTC 2013

BOTC = Battle of the Classes.
A competition to find the best of the classes.

I never went throughout my years at SCHS but Bridget went the other night and participated in the dance portion using her mad cheerleading/stunt skills. She also had to take pictures of the event because she is also the Historian. Who knew that even existed, right? Well since she can't be in two places at once, she asked me to come and take a few. Being the quality sister that I am (stop laughing), I went.

I haven't been on campus since I graduated. We are coming up on 3 years. Not only did I feel super old but I also felt a little out of place. But with camera in hand, I got myself in. The best part of the night was that I got to be anywhere I wanted. Everyone else was asked to move to the corner of the gym or the stands because you might get hit. No one says anything to you when you have a classy T1i on your neck ;)

I got some pretty fun shots and it was great to watch the seniors win!

XOXO
